Big Brothers Big Sisters Traditional Community Based Mentoring Program:

JEMBig Brothers Big Sisters is a prevention program provided by The Guidance Center in Jefferson, Elk, and McKean Counties. The Guidance Center is a private non-profit agency, based out of Bradford, Pennsylvania, providing a variety of prevention, education, support, and treatment services to children and families in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides mentoring services to youth. Professional casework staff screen volunteers, make matches based on common interests, and provide support to mentors, children served, and their families throughout the life of the match.

Big Brothers Big Sisters focuses on matching one adult volunteer with one child. Matches share time together in mutually agreed upon recreational/leisure activities. Matches typically get together 2 - 3 times per month for at least one year.
